It is no secret that fitness improves productivity and performance in the workplace. Taking part in regular fitness and health classes is also a great way to meet new people and form and strengthen connections and networks.

It is for these reasons that Tonsley Innovation District is proud to have Fundamental Fitness providing a fitness, health and wellness program in and around the MAB. Fundamental Fitness classes are interactive and adaptable to various fitness levels, meaning anyone can take part. Their sessions combine fun, exercise and competition all in a safe and comfortable environment.

Classes include fitness boxing, strength and fatburn interval circuits and yoga. Each session runs for 45 minutes.

Karen Jericho and some of her colleagues from SIMEC ZEN Energy recently took part in Fundamental Fitness sessions at Tonsley.

“These sessions proved to be quite valuable to our staff involved as it helped not only break up their work day and give them a good reason to leave their desk for an hour, but of course provide them with a fitness regime,” Karen said.

“Unlike attending a gym, these programs made the most of our outside facilities and included a number of fun activities that made the session more like play rather than a gruelling hour of torture.”

Strength and Fatburn Interval Circuit

This class is a great work out for those wanting to gain some strength, tone up their muscles and burn some fat. A variety of equipment and traditional and functional strength exercises are used. It involves minimal cardio

Fitness Boxing

Fitness Boxing is a great way to kick stress, get fit and burn fat at the same time. This class is for all levels and focuses on various basic punches and kicks, incorporating all the benefits of increased cardio, strength and fat burning.

Hatha Yoga focuses on breath, body awareness, allowing participants to release tension in the mind and body whilst gently building strength flexibility and balance.

All sessions will be held throughout the MAB and the Western Plaza Lawn Area and run for 45 minutes.
