Tonsley Innovation District Walking Tours

Book in to a free walking tour of Tonsley Innovation District, delivered by the City of Marion, and discover the history of the 61-hectare site and what lies in store for South Australia’s hub of high-value manufacturing.

A unique development in the City of Marion, the former Mitsubishi Motors assembly plant at Tonsley is in the process of being completely redeveloped as an integrated employment, education and residential precinct by Renewal SA.

Meet your guide for a walking tour of Tonsley and learn about its mixed-use precinct design, supporting businesses wanting to innovate, grow, go global and move up the value chain. Meet your tour guide at Gate 1 at 11am.

Please note this is a one hour walking tour and may be difficult for those with mobility issues. Parking can be limited; please allow time for this. There is a drop off zone located near Gate One where attendees can hop off whilst the driver finds a park.  Parking is available in Car Park 4.

The maximum number of participants for each tour is 15 people. Tours require a minimum of 5 registrations to proceed. Should you wish to make a large group booking, please contact City of Marion directly at [email protected].

Tours operate on the first Thursday of each month between 11am – 12pm.

Where are the tours?

The tours commence from and finish at Gate 1 of the Main Assembly Building (MAB) at Tonsley, located at A7 MAB, 6 MAB Eastern Promenade.

The best available public parking is available at Carpark P4 located on the western side of Tonsley. See site map for directions.

What is the cost?

These tours are generously provided free-of-charge by the City of Marion

What should I bring?

You should bring comfortable walking shoes and a water bottle. The tour is conducted under the Main Assembly Building (MAB) which is a large covered roof and so should it rain you will not get wet, however you are encouraged to dress for the weather.

Anyone interested in learning about Tonsley Innovation District.

The 60-minute tour involves regular walking and may be difficult for people with mobility issues. Attendees should feel confident in being able to walk along sealed flat surfaces for up to one-hour.
