Latest Renewal SA Works Programs commence at Tonsley

The Renewal SA Works Program team is pleased to announce the commencement of two programs being run through the Tonsley project — the Junction Australia Live Training Site program and Woolworths Southern Pre-employment program.

Junction Australia Live Training Site Program

The Junction Australia Live Training Site Program is the first live training site program to deliver outcomes that will benefit tenants living in Housing SA properties in Mitchell Park by beautifying shared outdoor areas, allowing them to participate and engage with their neighbours and the community.

Delivered in partnership with TAFE SA Urrbrae and Tonsley, it will provide successful participants with a Certificate II in Horticulture and accredited construction units, plus hands-on experience in paving, construction, landscape gardening, plant recognition and pruning.

Woolworths Southern Pre-employment Program

Following the success of the program at Playford Alive last year, the Woolworths Southern Pre-employment Program is being offered and will result in fifteen casual jobs being available at southern supermarkets.

Delivered in partnership with Woolworths and TAFE SA, successful participants will gain a Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways plus employment opportunities with Woolworths. Learner support services and post-placement support services are also being provided to ensure successful completion of the program and that subsequently employed graduates can access the support they need to help them succeed in their in their new roles.
