SACARE Disability Support Worker Pre-employment Program

The Renewal SA Works Program at Tonsley in partnership with Enhance Training and Recruitment, SACARE, ATEC, Status, the Australian Government’s Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program and WorkReady is delivering the SACARE Disability Support Worker Pre-employment Program offering real employment opportunities with SACARE.

What participants will achieve

  • Nationally accredited qualifications in:
    • Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015)
    • Conduct manual tasks safely (HLTWHS005)
    • Provide First Aid (HLTAID003)
    • Child Safe Environment Training
  • Guaranteed work experience placement in a disability care facility.
  • Participants will be provided with numeracy and literacy support via the Australian Government SEE Programme.
  • Real job opportunities with SACARE.

Participants we are looking for

Renewal SA’s Works Program is looking for motivated and committed people living in the cities of Marion, Mitcham and the broader Southern suburbs.

Program participants need to:

  • be physically able to carry out the duties of a Disability Support Worker
  • commit to a 28-week training Program
  • have a current Driver’s Licence
  • obtain a DCSI Clearance
  • be available to work across a 24×7 roster if employed.

What participants need to do

Contact the Administration team at ENHANCE Training and Recruitment for a telephone screening to ensure your suitability for the program.

Pre-registration and screening is required to participate in the Information and Selection Session with SACARE.

Participants will only be selected for the Program after attending the Information and Selection Session.

Program Details

When

From 31 October 2016 for 28 weeks (exclusive of a 2-week break, 22 December to 6 January).

Runs Monday to Wednesday, 9.30am to 4.30pm.

Where

Training is held at Mitchell Park Football Club, Moreland Avenue, Mitchell Park.

Cost

$100 student co-contribution fee.

Subsidised through the WorkReady Jobs First STL Projects 2016-2017.

There is no cost to the student for the SEE component as it is fully funded by the Australian Government.
