UCWB Southern Support Worker Pre-employment Program

The Renewal SA Works Program at Tonsley in partnership with UnitingCare Wesley Bowden (UCWB), TAFE SA and WorkReady is delivering the UCWB Southern Support Worker Pre-employment Program offering real employment opportunities with UCWB.

• Industry-specific training, including nationally accredited qualifications in:
  • Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways [FSK20113] incorporating accredited units from Certificate III in Individual Support [CHC33015]
  • Provide First Aid [HLTAID003]
• Participants will be provided with language, numeracy and literacy support.
• Work experience placements and real employment opportunities with UCWB.

Renewal SA’s Works Program is looking for motivated and committed people living in the Southern suburbs who are interested in a career in the aged care and disability support sectors.

Program participants need to:

• be physically fit
• have a current Driver’s Licence
• be able to obtain a DCSI Clearance
• be able to use a computer
• be 18 years old or over.

Firstly, contact Heather on 08 8245 7123 or [email protected] before 3 February to discuss your suitability for the program, and register to attend the screening session on 6 February.

After the first screening session, chosen participants will be invited to attend the 2-hour Information & Selection Session on 13 February.

At the Information & Selection Session, participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate their suitability for work in the community care sector.

Only successful participants will be selected for the five-week Program, which starts on 20 February.

Information & Selection Session

When: Monday, 13 February 2017, 10.00am for two hours.

Where: TAFE SA Tonsley Campus, Room 1.G.1, 1284 South Road, Tonsley

Training & Pre-employment Program

When: From 20 February 2017 for five weeks; runs Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 3.30pm.

Where: TAFE SA Noarlunga Campus, Ramsay Pl, Noarlunga Centre, and TAFE SA Tonsley Campus, 1284 South Rd, Tonsley.

This Program is funded through the Government of South Australia’s WorkReady initiative.
