We are seeking applications from motivated and committed people living in Adelaide’s southern suburbs to participate in the Bike Rack Live Site Training program.
The program will provide practical hands-on experience in designing, fabricating and installing bike racks within Tonsley innovation district and in the local community. Applicants should be enthusiastic and have an interest in learning about engineering in a hands-on environment.
This program is brought to you by the Renewal SA Works Program at Tonsley in partnership with ATEC, the Department of State Development and WorkReady.
An engineering qualification can lead to careers in fitting and machining, mechanical fitter, boilermaker – metal fabrication (light or heavy) and entry to diesel fitting.
Program participants will gain experience in thermal cutting, arc welding and the use of hand and power tools.

Suitable participants will also have the opportunity to complete a two-week work experience placement within industry.
Where and when
The training program starts on Monday, 13 February 2017 and runs for 10 weeks, Monday – Friday, 8.00am – 4.30pm daily.
Participants will be required to attend training at Adelaide Training & Employment Centre (ATEC) at 5 Refinery Road, Lonsdale, as well as in and around the Tonsley innovation district at 1284 South Road, Tonsley.
Cost
This program is subsidised through WorkReady by the Government of South Australia for eligible students.
Participants are required to supply their own personal protective equipment (PPE).
Participants will only be selected for the program after attending the information session.
