South Australia continues to form international relationships that will further its reputation as the country’s most tech-savvy region.
French global Internet of Things network provider, Sigfox, has signed an agreement with the South Australian Government through Investment Attraction South Australia that will assist the network’s roll-out across the state.
An Internet of Things network will enable everyday devices, including household appliances, watches and cars, to communicate via the internet with other devices such as vehicles, buildings and infrastructure embedded with electronics, software and sensors.
The network will bring significant benefits to the State’s regional and rural farmers, schools, businesses and local government, including greater efficiencies and productivity.
The network will contribute to the State’s transformation as an innovative and creative economy.
The local ecosystem of device makers and solutions providers is gearing up to service major customers with Sigfox-ready Internet of Things solutions.
South Australia is on track to become the first Internet of Things region in the Southern Hemisphere.
