Did you know that approximately 5,767 Australian veterans experience homelessness over a 12 month period? This is a significant over representation from such a small demographic and research into veteran homelessness indicates that veterans are more reluctant to seek help, seeing themselves as self-reliant, while also feeling too ashamed to seek help until a crisis occurs.
Australian Partners of Defence (APOD) based at Tonsley is determined to raise awareness around veteran homelessness. To support this worthy cause, APOD CEO Paul Broadbridge will be taking part in the #CEOSleepoutAU campaign on June 18th!
All funds generously donated to the Vinnies #CEOSleepoutAU campaign are used to fund crisis accommodation, food, healthcare, counselling, education, employment and support to find a permanent home for thousands of people across the country.
We know this has been an incredibly tough year for Aussies, battling fierce bushfires as well as the economic and physical pressures of COVID-19. This is why services to aid the homeless community are vital and they need our support now more than ever.
If you can, please donate using the link below and get behind Paul.
Thank you.
Paul Broadbridge, CEO APOD
