Held quarterly, Tonsley Connections provides an opportunity for members of the rapidly growing Tonsley community to get together and network amongst fellow peers and to get the latest details about what is happening at Tonsley Innovation District.

In this special festive edition, we are excited to showcase the impressive entries for this year’s Gingerbread House Engineering Challenge, proudly supported by Tonsley Innovation District and Flinders University. You can check out last year’s amazing entries here.

In addition, join us in celebrating our achievements throughout the year and take the opportunity for members of the rapidly growing Tonsley Community to get together and network amongst fellow peers and to get the latest details about what is next for Tonsley Innovation District.

The formal part of the event starts at 5pm followed by networking and light refreshments, with the event finishing at 7pm.

ABOUT THE GINGERBREAD HOUSE CHALLENGE

A key highlight for this event will be the announcement of the winner of the 2023 Gingerbread House Engineering Challenge!

Coordinated by Susanne Sahlos, PhD Candidate from Flinders University’s, College of Science and Engineering, this challenge kicked off recently whereby participating organisations from Tonsley were supplied kits with the aim to create the most impressive gingerbread house.

Judging criteria includes

• Structural integrity of the main building
• Originality and creativity of the overall design
• Attention to detail

• Originality and creativity of the introductory presentation/videoclip

• General adherence to rules

The judges will assess the creations shortly before the event kicks off. All entries will be on display in the Tonsley Pod during Tonsley Connections.

Tonsley Connections is an event exclusive to the members of the Tonsley community. That is, people who work, study, or live at Tonsley or are key stakeholders of the innovation district.
