Tonsley Technical College has landed a key employment pathway partner ahead of its 2025 opening, joining forces with ASC to provide high school students with job opportunities in the defence industry once they complete their studies.
The prestigious defence company specialises in advanced manufacturing and engineering and employs nearly 2,000 skilled personnel across Australia.
ASC will shape learning experiences through its apprenticeships and training programs, ensuring students are ready for a career in the defence industry.
To be constructed at Tonsley Innovation District, the College will host students from years 10 to 12 completing their SACE.
This follows the announcement that major group training organisations Motor Trade Association and Master Builders Association will also partner with the College and offer apprenticeships for students.
The College’s location within the Tonsley ecosystem will allow students to study alongside some of Australia’s leading STEM companies, such as Sage Automation, AZZO and Siemens Energy.
Industry training programs on offer will include Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering; Automotive and Energy; Building and Construction; and Health and Social Support, which will include a pathway to allied health and nursing.
These specialisations will prepare students for the jobs available now and into the future, with a focus on new technologies and future industries.
