Students can now apply to study for building and construction courses at the new $120 million TAFE SA Sustainable Industries Education Centre at Tonsley.
Traditional trades training is being offered across 26 disciplines including electrical and renewable energy, refrigeration and air-conditioning, plumbing, carpentry and joinery, furnishing and building, interior design and drafting, painting and decorating, bricklaying, plastering and tiling.
Applications for courses at Tonsley TAFE have opened, and the countdown to the January 2014 opening of the facility has begun.
Tonsley TAFE will provide students with access to the best trades training in Australia, new ways of learning not available at any other TAFE and world-class facilities and trades training infrastructure.
It will house training for more than 6,500 students a year with an average of 800 attending every day.
The facility will bring together all the building trades under one roof for the first time, so they’re able to learn and work together, as they’ll be required to do in the industry.
